I had the honor of celebrating Deanna and Michael's beautiful Cinco de Mayo wedding on May 5th, 2018 as their Poughkeepsie, NY Wedding DJ and I couldn't have been more honored!

It was a beautiful day for their outside wedding overlooking the Hudson river, where guests were greeted by a customized prelude list consisting of Vitamin String Quartet and piano instrumentals. The processional for Mike, parents and wedding party was a lovely recording by mom of Hallelujah. Their union was officiated by a good friend of theirs which I feel adds a more personal feeling to the ceremony. After exchanging their vows and the first kiss as husband and wife they strutted down the aisle to a classic - Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder.

And then comes the party!

The reception of course is my favorite part of the night. Starting in cocktail hour where I got the chance to interact with their guests one on one by playing blackjack at tables. I even ran into another couple, Travis & Katelyn whom I had the opportunity to DJ their wedding almost 2 years ago. I always love to see and catch up with past couples! Once Michael & Deanna were introduced we invited all their friends and family to join them on the dance floor to celebrate with them! They chose Earth Wind & Fire's -September as their party dance. The party dance is the very first song I play after intros, to kick off the reception just right! This song had the floor packed and filled with smiles! Afterwards they shared in their first dance to Ray Lamontange's-  You Are The Best Thing completely surrounded by their loved ones.

Soon the time had come to open the dance floor and we really got to celebrate the love that brought everyone together on this very special day. Because this couple loves all music genres, I was able to incorporate songs from The Stones to the Spice Girls. You better believe the flip flops provided by the bride and groom went to good use. No sore feet to be found at this wedding! With all the memories being made on the dance floor, some guests enjoying the cigar bar and the rest of us snacking on Krispy Kreme donuts; I think it is safe to say that everyone had an amazing Cinco De Mayo wedding experience.
